St Giles Supports Moonlight Cancer Trust Half Marathon with Free Recovery Therapy

St Giles Medical Rehabilitation Centre was proud to support the 3rd Edition of the Moonlight Cancer Trust Half Marathon & Charity Run, held on 5 September 2026 at Falcon Golf Club in Harare.

The event brought together runners, families, fitness enthusiasts and members of the community for a morning centred around physical activity, cancer awareness and support for people affected by cancer.

The race featured 21KM, 10KM, 5KM and 3KM categories, as well as a 10KM wheelchair category, creating an opportunity for people with different abilities and fitness levels to participate.

St Giles Was There to Support Recovery

Following the physical demands of the races, the St Giles team provided free recovery therapy to participants.

Our team was on hand to help runners recover after their races and to offer guidance around movement, muscle recovery and physical wellbeing.

For St Giles, participation in community sporting events is an important part of taking rehabilitation beyond the clinical environment.

Rehabilitation is not only about recovering after illness or injury. It is also about helping people understand their bodies, maintain movement and participate safely in the activities that matter to them.

Celebrating One of Our Own

The day became even more special for St Giles when Senior Citizen Tendai Magora, one of our own, took part in the event and won a prize.

His achievement was a particularly meaningful moment for our team and a wonderful reminder that age does not have to be a barrier to an active life.

We are proud of Tendai and congratulate him on his achievement.

More Than a Race

The Moonlight Cancer Trust Half Marathon was more than a test of endurance. The event was organised to promote cancer awareness and encourage public support for people affected by cancer. Organisers described the event under the theme “Walking the Mile Together: Every Step Counts, Every Life Matters.”

Events like this demonstrate the powerful connection between physical activity, community and health awareness.

For St Giles, being part of the day was an opportunity to contribute our rehabilitation expertise while connecting with people outside our usual clinical setting.

We would like to thank Moonlight Cancer Trust for the opportunity to be part of the event and everyone who stopped by the St Giles recovery area.

And to all the runners who took part: congratulations on completing your race.

A special congratulations to Senior Citizen Tendai Magora on his achievement.

St Giles Medical Rehabilitation Centre

At St Giles, we believe rehabilitation should help people keep moving, remain independent and continue participating in the lives they value.

Supporting movement. Restoring independence. Improving lives.
